Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actress, started with a series of ribbing quips about sexual identities, racial identity and gender. In the years before she stepped to Hollywood her music, she came out with a series of rap tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She was a trumpeter. Jazz, classical and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies at college, even studying Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus towards music. Following her viral success via the Internet Her track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on her album debut Yellow Ranger. It also included other hit songs that went viral, such as the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. This track was directly linked into another venture Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in the year 2015. As a musician and an author among her accomplishments, she determined to pursue the role of a third-party actor. Alongside early series such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors and Storks. In 2018 she landed breakthrough performances in a variety of famous films such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
